About Me

Dr. Caroline Harvey is a licensed clinical psychologist in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Florida, specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, and families.

With a warm, collaborative approach, Dr. Harvey is passionate about helping families navigate the challenges of childhood behavior and anxiety. She works closely with parents to strengthen the parent-child relationship, improve behavior at home and school, and build emotional resilience in children and caregivers alike.

Dr. Harvey provides individual and family therapy using evidence-based treatments. She specializes in working with children and adolescents experiencing:

  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder

  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Selective Mutism (SM)

  • Childhood anxiety disorders, including Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Separation Anxiety Disorder

She is a certified provider of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and PCIT for Selective Mutism, and is a co-author of the treatment manual for PCIT Adapted for Older Children (PCIT-OC)—an intervention designed for youth ages 7–10 with disruptive behaviors. Dr. Harvey also incorporates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and Kazdin’s Parent Management Training (PMT).

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Harvey collaborates with schools, psychiatrists, and other professionals to support children across settings. She especially enjoys training and coaching teachers on effective behavior management strategies for students with emotional or behavioral challenges. She is also a certified Within-Agency Trainer for PCIT, providing supervision and training for therapists seeking PCIT certification through Manhattan Psychology Group.

Dr. Harvey earned her B.A. in Psychology from the State University of New York at Geneseo and her Psy.D. in Clinical-School Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. She completed her clinical training at several leading institutions, including:

  • South Beach Psychiatric Center – Children and Youth Services

  • Therapy West & Academics West – New York City (postdoctoral fellowship)

Previously, Dr. Harvey served as Director of Mighty Mouth Kids Camp at Kurtz Psychology Consulting—a group intensive program for children ages 3–9 with Selective Mutism.
